UA Science Café Comes to Phoenix

The University of Arizona’s College of Science hosts a number of free
science café series in Pima and Pinal counties.  Now, the College of Science
Outreach Committee and the UA’s Water Sustainability Program are bringing a
science café series focused on global change and water to Maricopa County.

Our first speaker is international climate change expert and co-winner of
the 2007 Nobel Prize, Jonathan Overpeck, who will speak on

Come find out how researchers believe climate change will affect Arizona’s
rainfall, snow packs, stream flow, sky islands and desert vegetation, and
whether we may already be experiencing climate change impacts.  The talk
with conclude with a question-and-answer session.

This monthly science café series will run through May.  The March talk will
address Seeking Sustainability in the Southwest: the Water/Energy Challenge.
