Hi Sonoran Desert Weedwackers-  Ninety-five tons and counting!! The
Weedwackers have removed an estimated 95 tons of invasive grasses from
Tucson Mountain Park. Outstanding!!  Last month they filled 100 bags!

 

This month Saturday, May 17, we will be working on the CAP canal area again.
Masses of buffelgrass have been building up in this area over many years.
The Weedwackers have been working this site since February. It would be good
to wear boots. For this weedwacking activity, we will be carrying bags out,
but the land is relatively flat. We will start at 7:00am  and will be done
by 11:00am.

Weedwackers meet at the Caretaker's House across the road from the Arizona
Sonora Desert Museum on Kinney Road. We will meet at 7:00am. Parking is
available at the Caretaker's House. Gloves and digging bars will be
provided, but remember to bring sunscreen, water and snacks.  Munchies are
always appreciated for snacking after the digging.
