Good afternoon,
MWS has a volunteer opportunity that you can do anywhere!!! Do you like to
write? Are you interested in creating outreach materials? Newsletter
articles? Enjoy graphic design? MWS is looking for a few interested people
for assistance writing articles for the quarterly newsletter and with the
creation of MWS fact sheets for use at outreach events.
Opportunity 1 (RECHARGE): Write an article for the quarterly
newsletter, RECHARGE. The article could focus on a volunteer project you
have recently been involved with, report on an environmental outreach event
you attended, or other environmental/water issues that you wish to consider.
You can write once or quarterly if you choose.
Opportunity 2 (FACT SHEETS): MWS would like to continue creating a
series of fact sheets that is available to the public. Fact sheets (one is
attached for reference), answer a science related question on one side and
provide links for more information on the other. Currently, we have "The
Water Cycle" and "What is a Watershed?" A few ideas for fact sheets include:
Where does our water come from? How will growth affect our water supplies
and use? What's the best way to conserve? Is bottled water better than tap
water? What is rainwater harvesting? What is grey water? This is a partial
list of ideas; we are open to hearing more suggestions.
Your name would, of course, be listed as author on all documents you
produce. Any time spent on either or both projects are counted as MWS
volunteer hours. If you are curious, want to know more, or want to sign up
to create something, please drop me an email so we can discuss this further.
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to hearing from you!!!
