Special Presentation at Maricopa Master Watershed Steward Meeting in February
What: Understanding and Teaching about Invasive Species in Southern Arizona
Who: Gretchen Lopez, Pima County Master Watershed Steward and Intern,
Arizona Master Watershed Steward Program
WHEN: MWS General Meeting February 16, Thursday evening, 7:00 to 9:00 pm at
the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension office, 4341 E. Broadway Rd., Phoenix
Notes:
Come learn more about Arizona's nastiest invasive exotic plants and animals
and what the public can do about them! Gretchen Lopez will lead us on an
entertaining, hands-on tour of the state's worst plant and animal invaders.
She will also teach us how to better educate the public about these threats
to Arizona's wild and domestic landscapes. Be prepared to learn some
identification skills and some techniques for communicating to a variety of
audiences about this important subject. Gretchen's talk will run from
7:00-8:30 PM.
What to bring: Yourselves, friends, and a potluck dish if you would like to
share.
