I have Mesquite trees that were planted ~3 yrs ago from 24" boxes.  They are so rootbound that they still have the shape of the original boxes and are easily blown over in the wind.  I have staked the trees to prvent wind damage and have installed a circular irrigation system to encourage outbound root growth but to no avail...yet.  Can these trees be saved and how?????
