The U of A pub. AZ1237 "Deer and Rabbit Resistant Plants' at
http://cals.arizona.edu/pubs/garden/az1237.pdf
lists Fairy Duster as being rabbit resistant but in my area the
rabbits munch on any tender young growth so it is prudent to protect
young plants. Rabbits will even eat young agaves. One-inch chicken
netting around the plants usually works. Some people believe it needs
to extend a few inches into the ground to keep the rabbits from
digging under but we have not needed to do that. After you get enough
growth to sacrifice he lower 18 ijnches, the netting can be removed.
Takes only a year or two.
